The Marketing Controller is the owner of the long-term strategic development for the DDD branded and own label portfolio. They are responsible for leading a team of Marketing Managers and brand managers, formulating and translating the strategies into achievable long- and short-term objectives, which are aligned to the wider business objectives. This includes coaching and challenging the team to write the best brand plans as well as ensuring the delivery through to successful fruition, with results that meet or exceed budget.

The individual will report directly into the Head of Marketing, as well as direct contact with the Dendron Managing Director. They will need experience of working with senior stakeholders in the business on a one-to-one level.

As the Marketing Controller you will manage three Brand Managers and will be responsible for creating and monitoring the 3-year strategies across all brands and own label in Personal Care, whilst identifying gaps and opportunities across the portfolio. You will also be responsible for leading the creation of new brands, working alongside the Head of Marketing to generate ideas through to final brands and product range.

Key business responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of the short- and long-term marketing and innovation plans, ensuring they are always in line with the brand vision and wider business objectives; course correcting where necessary.
  • Plan and achieve budgeted sales and profitability targets in line with agreed expenditure, consumer and trade strategies.
  • Challenge the team to think beyond the current year and create strategies that drive profitable, long term growth.
  • Identify where our brands sit on the BCG Matrix, feeding that into the thinking of the business to drive dynamic brand growth, where appropriate.
  • Create a clear strategy for how we bring own label brand management into the marketing team, including recruiting for an OL BM in the new year.
  • Challenge the team to develop clear, consumer driven brand architecture strategies, brand positioning strategies and commercial strategies.
  • Steer the team, supported by the Insight Manager, to provide insight that builds strategic partnerships with retailers to drive brand and category growth.
  • Ensure the team are continually evaluating and proposing changes and additions to brand portfolio to the innovation team, based on changing market conditions and opportunities.
  • Partner with our Legal to ensure appropriate protection of trademarks, copyrights and other related intellectual property.
  • Work closely with the Innovation and Digital teams.
  • Challenge agencies and product costs.
  • Champion the brands, internally and externally.

Team leadership responsibilities:

  • Coach and develop the team to enable best thinking and delivery, identifying when external/additional training is required.
  • Track delivery of annual objectives (both business and personal) and lead annual performance reviews.
  • Maintains internal relationships through strong and timely communication with all stakeholders, supporting the team where needed. 
  • Maximise brands’ commercial potential; ensuring brands are competitive in the marketplace, in relation to trade promotions, in store merchandising, range management, packaging and pricing.
  • Ensures marketing activity compliance with all relevant UK governing bodies e.g. MHRA, PAGB, Clearcast and RACC.
  • Constantly monitor the team’s skillset and development to ensure we have the best marketing team in place to deliver our objectives.

Requirements

  • Degree level of qualification.
  • Strong all round relevant FMCG marketing experience, exposure to all of the marketing mix and strong commercial knowledge.
  • Experience of brand planning and long-term strategic thinking.
  • Evidence of successful implementation of annual brand plans.
  • Experience of line management of more than one person.
  • Full driving license.

The Brand Manager will sit in the Dendron division of DDD, owning the 360 management of their brand. They formulate the brand strategy as well as translating that strategy into achievable objectives and tactics, which then need to be driven through to successful fruition.

The individual will report directly into the Marketing Controller, as well as direct contact with the Head of Marketing and Dendron Managing Director. They will need experience of working with senior stakeholders in the business on a one-to-one level and for more formal presentations.

Innovation is at the very heart of what we do at DDD; this role is the brand management of Flourish, an exciting new brand we launched in 2019. The Flourish brand is a medically led, innovative range of menopause products, driven by the consumer insight, and a comprehensive research programme. The conversation around menopause is beginning to change, with people talking more openly about their experiences, however, it largely remains a taboo topic for many. It is often overlooked when it comes to products to help women as they start to experience and transition through the different stages of the menopause. Flourish is about to change that!

Brand management responsibilities:

  • Plan and achieve budgeted sales and profitability targets in line with agreed expenditure and consumer and trade strategies.
  • Champion the brand, internally and externally; be the authority for the brand.
  • To develop a long-term brand vision and marketing strategy with recommendations for execution plans annually.
  • Manage the ATL and BTL marketing spend, providing optimum communication plans that deliver return on investment.
  • Manage the ATL development process demonstrating strong creative judgement and client sell in.
  • Create and lead the annual event programme, alongside the event planner, to drive Flourish awareness and start to become the brand that educates Women and their families.
  • Excite key stakeholders and engage the trade with the introduction of brand range extensions and new product launches.
  • Support Innovation team on building the future EPD and NPD pipeline for the brand and roll out into market.

Requirements

  • Degree level of qualification or CIM equivalent.
  • Strong all round relevant FMCG marketing experience, exposure to all of the marketing mix.
  • Experience of brand planning and strategic thinking and evidence of successful implementation.
  • Experience of working on the advertising process, with a keen creative eye.
  • Experience of planning and analysing trade promotional activity.

We are now recruiting for a Digital Marketing Manager. This is a brand new role that will be pivotal in starting and growing a digital function from scratch. Reporting directly to the MD and the Senior Team you’ll have an enviable opportunity to make your mark as we look to grow a suite of brands through digital.

 

About you:

We’re shaking things up at DDD and need an ambitious marketer who wants to accelerate their career. With 3-5 years CPG/FMCG experience (DTC / e-commerce a significant benefit) you will have led a small team in growing and maturing brand communications relevant for the new economy, engaging a digitally led consumer that values brand outside of pure product, a consumer that spends a disproportionate amount of time in social channels, seeking entertainment, answers and ideas.

 

Accountabilities

  • Creation of annual, monthly and weekly content plans for digital (primarily social) channels based on audience and brand insights
  • Budget allocation and performance, ensuring KPIs such as Cost Per Click, Cost Per Engagement, Cost Per View are met and considered in all content plans
  • Community engagement and social listening for a house of brands
  • Management of a team of interns or juniors

 

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting a wider brand idea or concept in the creation of joined up campaign briefs for external agency partners or freelancers to respond to
  • Agency contracting and performance management

Key Skills:

  • Experience of end-to-end campaign design with a strong focus on the end consumer
  • Hands on experience of Facebook Ad Manager across both Facebook and Instagram, ability to set post objectives and define audiences relevant to business goals, schedule content, analyse performance data and manage ad budgets to achieve KPIs.
  • Experience of writing copy for branded social content. Ability to change writing styles to fit multiple brand’s tone of voice guidelines.
  • Basic Google Analytics skills, ability to create reports and provide insights as to how visitors are spending time on site as well as make recommendations as to site and campaign improvements using this information.
  • Hands on experience in the following types of platforms beneficial but not essential 
    CMS (e.g. Wordpress)
    Email (e.g. Mailchimp)
    Social Listening & Scheduling (e.g. Sprout, Hootsuite etc)

Currently digital implementation is very limited, so this is a unique opportunity to play a part, alongside the wider digital team, in shaping how we become more digitally agile and seamless in our execution across multiple channels.

 

Social Media will be your core role, working alongside the eCommerce Manager and your direct report, the community manager. This individual will need to ensure we are always up to date on the latest developments with Facebook and Instagram (building direct relationship with the companies). They will also be responsible for advising the company on latest trends in the social world, both consumer behaviour and up and coming technology.

 

Senior Social Manager’s responsibilities:

 

·     Ensure all our wider marketing campaigns translate into the social environment and engage consumers where they are already active, delivering content that will engage and inspire whether that be entertainment, answers or new ideas.

·     Work with the brand managers to create annual social strategies for all our brands across social media channels.

·     Translate these strategies into monthly content calendars and supporting media campaigns, working alongside our media buying agency to execute.

·     Track campaigns to deliver against KPI’s and monitor ROI, optimizing plans where needed.

·     Report performance to key stakeholders on a weekly basis.

·     Manage the community manager to ensure all social pages are up to date on a day to day basis and that they are implementing the monthly content calendars and responding to consumer questions in a timely manner.

·     Work alongside the eCommerce Manager and their direct report, CRM Manager, to ensure all our social activity ties into the wider digital campaigns.

·     Champion digital and social media across the business.

·     Maintains exceptional business relationships through strong communication, adaptable working style, project management and delivery.

·     Maximises brands’ digital potential; ensuring brands are a, in relation to trade always on and activity ties in with the wider marketing campaigns, including Shopper Marketing.

Due to our continuing success and ambitious growth plans we are looking for two Senior Warehouse Operatives with current fork lift licenses to join our fantastic team. Our Warehouse will be operating to a rotating shift pattern of 06:00 – 14:00, 09:00 – 17:00 and 14:00 – 22:00 Monday to Friday.  

Key Responsibilities

To perform all Warehouse, Administrative and Quality Control related tasks including:

-        Loading and unloading of vehicles and completing all relevant paperwork accurately

-        Safely locating stock into available warehouse racking whilst ensuring the electronic stock transfer system is accurately adhered to.

-        Pick orders for UK and international customers using handheld RF equipment and/or picking notes meeting customer requirements for order assembly and customer deadlines

-        Replenish stock into pick faces or other locations as advised using appropriate MHE

-        Counting warehouse stock as required

-        Using Syspro and WMS system in relation to relevant warehouse admin tasks

-        Populate and manage ‘goods in/goods out’ booking document

-        Able to receipt manufactured SKU’s, bought in and non-stock parts, produce and control relevant paperwork

-        Help maintain and ensure safe use of warehouse equipment

-        To perform quality inspections on incoming packaging, components of DDD and its contractual customers.

-        Raising relevant incident reports and deviations in QMS for defective incoming goods.

We are currently recruiting for a Packaging Technologist to join our fantastic team.

Job Description:

  • Effectively collaborate with Customers and propose solutions based on benchmark and cost parameters aligned with Customer Brief.
  • Review packaging concept whilst providing feasible solutions in terms of quality, sustainability, functionality and within allocated budget.
  • Liaise with DDD Approved Packaging Suppliers and Design Agencies on the packaging required including associated costs and timelines.
  • Confirm estimate packaging costs based on concept / brief and rework packaging if required.
  • Drive the implementation of DDD packaging sustainability targets and ensure adherence.
  • Review and approval of final technical drawings; cutter guides and material specifications.
  • Conduct / coordinate packaging tests to ensure functionality during Production, Supply Chain and Consumer use.
  • Coordinate line trials and ensure packaging filling capability on current production lines.
  • Review all packaging formats to ensure suitability and functionality and compile relevant test reports as per work instructions.
  • Develop and maintain packaging component specifications to ensure development meets aesthetic and technical expectations.
  • Ensure colour consistency and brand alignment and attend packaging print trials as required.
  • Approve pre-production and production standards and ensure conformance to specification.
  • Managing the development tasks for NPD and EPD projects ensuring on-time completion whilst adhering to company procedures.
  • Provide technical support to all related departments on packaging related queries during and post development.
  • Review packaging post-launch to identify areas that impact quality or delivery.
  • Effectively investigate and manage packaging deviations, changes and corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure adherence to DDD internal quality and development processes.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Institute of Packaging (IoP) Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years Packaging Development experience in FMCG, Pharma or Cosmetics
  • Understanding of packaging, printing and manufacturing processes
  • Good material and technical packaging knowledge
  • Ability to understand and translate the design requirements into packaging
  • GS1 and Cape Pack (or similar) knowledge

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Always promote a strong safety culture and compliance to current H&S standards
  • People management including goal setting, performance assessment, personal development and employee relations management
  • Drive the people agenda and focusses on building capability and talent pipeline.
  • Create and deploy long term plans to deliver optimum maintenance of the production plant, equipment, facilities and systems
  • Deliver engineering specific targets, forecasting and reporting
  • Responsible for delivery of maintenance agenda, providing maximum availability and optimum efficiency of the production plant, equipment, facilities and systems
  • Responsible for the department compliance with DDDs’ engineering specific standards and policies as well as applicable law
  • Work with key stakeholders and utilise Lean ways of working to deliver Operational Excellence (OPEX), coaching team on use of the principles and tools. Encourage engineering-based OE projects
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain and Quality functions, ensuring lines are changed over and prepared accordingly
  • Work on continuous improvement activities with cross functional teams to advance the business
  • Collaboratively works with other teams to improve our business

 

Key Skills and Qualifications Required
